FAQ
I never attended a club-training, will I be able to keep up with you?
No problem, URW stands for "You are welcome". We are open to players at all levels. That's why we offer training courses for beginners and top players as well.
The next question will help you to identify the level you fit in.
Which playing ability do I have?
Beginner = if you never had a training lesson with a certified badminton-trainer, who showed you the groundstrokes, than you are a beginner. Even if you are athletic, have a feel for the ball and you play with your friends in a badminton center.
Moderately advanced = you know the groundstrokes clear, drop, smash + stop (at least in theory) and you are acquainted with the positional play in double games.
Advanced = you are practising especially on the reliability of your strokes, you are exercising strength and endurance. You at least once took part in a tournament of a national badminton federation and you wasn't placed hindmost. ;)
Top Player = you compete in a first or second national league and you want to play in the team championships at federal league level.
If you still are not sure about your playing ability, than take part in one of our trainings on a trial basis:
Advanced: Wednesday (3rd distr.)
Moderately advanced: Friday (23rd. distr.)
Beginners: Thursday (20th. distr.)
Our trainers can advise you afterwards a fitting course.
I just want to play with my partner once a week on a regular basis. Is this possible?
No. In this case you are better served in a commercial badminton center. It's the benefit of a club, that you can excercise with different partners, that you can improve your play in a technical and tactical way and that you take part in championships and tournaments.
Do I need an own partner, if I want to play in your club?
No, even that is a benefit of a club membership: You always find like-minded players at your level and you don't need to make an appointment
Do I have to become a member, if I want to attend a training course?
Yes, you do. That's the same scheme as in a fitness studio, but it's not so expensive ;)
Can I play on all the dates you have in your schedule?
Basically yes, but some of the dates are booked for training courses. You will find an overview in the menue item "Schedule".
Do I have to pay the fee for the whole season, even if I join in during the year?
No, you only pay the relevant (aliquot) part of the fee.
